ABOUT
BYA
The Baltimore Youth Alliance, Inc. (BYA) is an innovative, creative, and cutting edge 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization established to improve the academic and professional performance of disadvantaged African American students in Baltimore City and surrounding counties.
BYA was established informally in 1994, incorporated in 1998, and implemented its first independent program in November of 1999. The driving force behind this organization was the recognition that there was approximately 80% of African American students in Baltimore City who will graduate high school and won’t be eligible to enter a four-year college or university.
Since its inception, the organization has been successful in motivating African American students to work diligently to achieve high school success, to earn college academic scholarships, to achieve academic and professional success in college, and ultimately to earn Six-Figure Incomes with major corporations in their Early to Mid Twenties.

WHAT IS BYA ABOUT?
BYA is about preparing us for success at levels that we never envisioned. BYA enabled me to give up basketball in the beginning of my senior year in high school and focus on academic success. I went on to earn an academic scholarship to college, attain several professional certifications, attain Executive internships with BYA, Travelers Insurance Company, the Boeing Corporation, and J. P Morgan Chase, and graduate college debt free. Now, at the age of 22, I am earning a fantastic salary with one of the largest corporations in the world. The Baltimore Youth Alliance, Inc. changed the trajectory of my life. It not only contributed to my professional, academic, and personal success, IT IS THE REASON FOR IT!!

Through an effective partnership with The Meridian Management Group, Inc., The Baltimore Youth Alliance, Inc. has had over six hundred high school graduates with the following results:

The Baltimore Youth Alliance developed me into the tenacious, hard-working, and disciplined student I am today. With their help my SAT score increased by 500 points! I still make use of the skills I learned at BYA in my collegiate career at Spelman College.

The Baltimore Youth Alliance, Inc. has prepared me to qualify for a full academic scholarship to several universities. I chose Morgan State University because of its tremendous School of Business and Management as well as the university’s ongoing relationship with BYA. Because of the support of BYA, I will be graduating from Morgan State University entering a professional career with Goldman Sachs.

The Baltimore Youth Alliance, Inc. was exactly what I needed growing up; a program that prepared me for college success. While there are an endless number of programs similar to BYA, none of them can rival the BYA's track record nor Mr. Dean's commitment to each student that walks through those doors. Thanks to BYA, I will begin my professional career at T. Rowe Price at 22 years of age.
